Until recently, horses were an essential part of human daily life, used for transportation, agriculture and companionship. This film project explores a new way of using horses —Leadership Equine Assisted Development (LEAD)—an emerging field where horses take the roles of teachers and therapists. This practice is becoming increasingly popular in corporate and business training programs, where instincts and herd dynamics that are natural to horses are utilized to help humans become better leaders and team players. The film explores this curious new pedagogy, and reflects on the nature of self knowledge, the limits of our awareness (of ourselves and the world around us) and the ethical conundrum of translating between ourselves and another species.
